Joanna Lacy Beanie knitted in Terracotta Blue faced Leicester 100% wool yarn.
The Blue faced Leicester is a British sheep breed which is common in Wensleydale. The tups ( male sheep) are used to cross with Swaledale ewes to give a mule lamb.
The Blue faced Leicester produces some of the softest wool of any British sheep breed.
I designed this hat.
I find sometimes my head gets too warm in a wool hat but the lacy pattern means this doesn't happen.
The Blue faced yarn is very soft and the terracotta colour brings a cheerful look on a cold day.
The hat is one size to fit a 56 cm circumference head.
Depth from centre of crown to edge of beanie 17 cm.
